A Bulky Item With Its Own Set of Rules
Mattresses aren't like a box of old clothes or a broken lamp. They're oversized, awkward to carry through hallways and stairwells, and in many areas can't just go out with regular curbside trash—some municipal services in Central Arkansas restrict or refuse standard mattress pickup entirely. That's part of why mattress and box spring removal tends to be its own category of junk, rather than something that gets handled along with everything else without a second thought.
Where possible, we route mattresses toward recycling rather than the landfill—the steel springs inside a box spring and mattress frame are recoverable material, and separating that out is part of responsible disposal rather than just hauling weight to a dump. That's consistent with the eco-friendly approach we bring to every pickup, not a special add-on for mattresses specifically.
